Do The Right Thing Blog Entry

     There didn't seem to be much of doing the "right thing" in this script in my opinion. At almost every opportunity for someone to do something relatively good throughout the story, they didn't. Small situations prevailed and had some good in them, though. For instance, I liked how Vito never got violent towards his brother even though he really seemed like he wanted to, and he was being encouraged by Mookie to retaliate in a violent way. Another situation where someone did the right thing was when Buggin' Out didn't do anything to Clifton about stepping on his new shoes. Bugging' Out could have easily attacked Clifton, but he showed good restraint and composure by leaving him alone and letting him walk away to avoid a fight. Da Mayor did something very heroic when it came to saving the boy from getting hit by a car in the streets that was the right thing to do in that situation, he didn't even think about what to do he just reacted. When it comes to the largest problem within the script, Buggin' Out was right when it come to questioning Sal about the pictures on the walls, because he has a valid point. The Pizzeria should make an attempt to appeal to the demographic of people that are spending money in there. On the other hand, Sal is right by his decision to put up what he wants, because he is the owner and at the end of the day, he can do what he wants with his pizzeria. At the end, nothing going on is the "right thing' the burning of the pizzeria, the violence, the police killing Radio Raheem, all of these things are the wrong things to do. The only two things during all of this that were the right thing were how Da Mayor didn't join on the violence, and how Sal gave Mookie $500 the next morning because he "always tries to do the right thing".
